Social skills classes are small group courses that focus on the ins and outs of social interaction. They are offered on Saturdays and each term is 8 weeks long. We offer a fall, winter and spring term during the school year. These courses are educator developed, educator led and we staff a ratio of 1:3 (teacher to student). 1:1 support may be available if needed. For older students, groups meet for a lesson then go out into the community.
This “crew” is for those who have transitioned out of high school, but want a social group of peers to hang out with on a regular basis.
Our Summer Day Camp is an adaptive program that combines social skills curriculum with therapeutic recreation activities every day. The camp is divided into two groups for the classroom curriculum to ensure the kids are being taught at an age-appropriate level. The classrooms are then combined for the therapeutic recreation activities and community outings. Each week features fun, theme centered curriculum, learning experiences, and community outings.
